For our inaugural year, we were thrilled to award Russell “Kam” Dobbs with the 2019-2020 scholarship. Kam is the epitome of The REACH Initiative’s character values and purpose. He has overcome his family hardships and we have no doubt that he will beat the odds.

Kam graduated in the top 10% of his Mays High School senior class while also serving as SGA Vice-President and being dual-enrolled. In addition to these honors, Kam was also a member of the National Honor Society and Beta Club .

Between the lines, Kam was a four-year letterman in football and baseball. He lettered for one year of Varsity basketball.

Kam will be attending Morehouse College in the fall where he plans to major in Computer Science and learn the skills to one day code video games like EA Sports.
